In order to understand and update the History of Architecture, Urbanism and the Arts in Portugal it is fundamental to know the Research in Architecture developed at LNEC. The interdisciplinary lines of research examined therein are subject to strategic guidelines defined in articulation with the State. But what was the capacity of LNEC to respond to concrete problems of urbanism / housing in Portugal? What was a success and what failed? How did other European research centers respond to similar issues? The changes felt over time involved adaptations in the scientific research developed there and, to this day, filed there.
