Short Bio

Elian Stefa (b. 1985) is an architect and curator that lives and works between Lisbon and Tirana. He is currently a PhD researcher at Iscte-University Institute of Lisbon focusing on the topic of Critical Curating as a Spatial Practice. He is the director of Galeria e Bregdetit, an independent art institution and exhibition space by the coast of the Albanian Riviera where he uses contemporary art to investigate and shape the identities of regional contexts and landscapes. Previously he exhibited at the Albanian Pavilion at the 13th Architecture Biennale in Venice with Concrete Mushrooms, a project that transforms Albania's abandoned bunkers into a network of tourist attractions, and the first in-depth study on the bunkerization of Albania.
